The promo looks excellent,” said the 54-year-old actor.

“I am eagerly waiting to watch the show,” Anil Kapoor added. Madhuri will co-judge the show with filmmaker Karan Johar and choreographer Remo D’Souza. Anil, who had teamed up with Madhuri in blockbusters like Tezaab, Beta, Ram Lakhan, and Parinda, says besides being a fabulous actor, she is a good human being too. “She is a wonderful actor. I have always said that you will see good actors and good dancers very often, but a combination of a good human being is very rare. She is very respectful and loving,” he said. Anil’s film Shootout at Wadala is releasing on May 3, while Madhuri’s next big movie will be Gulaab Gang.

Winter is a great time of year but it tends to come with two big drawbacks; the plunging temperatures and the rising cost of heating your home as the price of domestic oil starts to climb.

It is well known that domestic oil prices usually climb as winter starts to bite but that doesn’t mean that you need to choose between paying a fortune and shivering in your own living room. As well as sensible pieces of common sense advice like choosing to buy heating oil in advance there are also some more unusual things you can do now to be a fuel fighter and get a warmer and cheaper winter without having to worry about those domestic oil prices or the latest cold front to roll in.

Bake More

There are a couple of great benefits to doing more baking in the winter time. First of all you get something warm and tasty to eat. Secondly, the heat generated by the oven will bring a welcome boost to the home’s temperatures. If your kitchen has a space for eating or relaxing in then you can stay here for a while and enjoy the extra warmth as well as the smell of cooking food.

Do More Exercise

If you have managed to take advantage of the lower domestic oil prices on offer before the usual winter rises kick in then maybe you could use some of the savings to get a gym membership. This will help you work off some of those calories you have gained from all that baking you are doing now and will help warm you as well. If you don’t want to spend money on the gym then when you are feeling chilly at home you could do a few minutes of light exercise and start to feel how your body heats up naturally. This is a great idea for those chilly early mornings before you head off to work.

Take a Steamy Shower

Once your domestic oil tank has been topped up you will feel a lot more comfortable about the long, cold winter ahead. You can now forget about worrying about oil prices and instead concentrate on keeping warm. You won’t want to keep your heating on full while you are out but this might mean that you sometimes come home to a cold house. You should resist the temptation to turn the heating up full right away and hope for instant relief. It is a better idea to turn it to its normal setting. While you are waiting for the house to get to a nice temperature you could take a long, steamy shower.

If you have a small bathroom or a shower cabin then this time of year is when you are really going to feel the benefit of being able to heat it up quickly and efficiently . With the right ideas you can keep warm and avoid paying the higher domestic oil prices which come along in the coldest months of the year. James Charles is a frequent contributor for fuel fighter and has written many articles pertaining to all things regarding domestic heating oil, energy saving tips especially on such subjects as making the best of your precious boiler juice for your heating requirements.

The 31-year-old tennis star had tweeted earlier that evening that she simply could not get out of bed. To which Kardashian replied saying, “You better! We have dinner tonight!” People magazine reported. Despite her exhaustion, Williams tweeted back: “Getting dressed now!” The ladies ended up having a great time together. “Fun girls night!!! But where’s my nose Serena Williams? Lol. Too flashy,” Kardashian commented on a picture the pals took with too bright of a flash. “Such a fun night. Love you!” Williams wrote.

An NSE official said the block sales in the two stocks appeared to have come from a single broker and the exchange was looking into the matter. The unusual pricing reminded dealers of the time in October when a series of large erroneous orders were made on a broad basket of shares by a broker at Emkay Global Financial Services (EMKS.NS) that sent the Nifty tumbling as much as 15.5 percent. That incident had sparked concerns about the stability of the country’s trading systems.

“In the long run these types of trading incidents may sap confidence of long-term investors, and as such, can erode the value of their portfolios significantly,” said Deven Choksey, managing director of KR Choksey Securities in Mumbai. Officials at both companies said they would not comment on market movements in their share prices. IA total of 2.07 million shares in Tata Motors were sold in six blocks at an average price of 274.92 rupees in the afternoon, well below the roughly 292 rupee level at which the shares were trading at the time. Tata shares fell as low as 268.25 rupees before ending the session down 5.49 percent at 281.64 rupees.

Shares in UltraTech, a cement maker, ended down 3.4 percent at 1,838 rupees after an earlier block sale of 41,863 shares took place at an average 1,853.80 rupees, also well below where shares were trading at the time. Both trades took place around the same time. The trades were far smaller than the erroneous ones by Emkay in October. The block sales in Tata Motors comprised about 0.1 percent of the automaker’s total shares in free float.

For UltraTech the proportion was even smaller. The falls in both were well within the 20 percent moves that are allowed for stocks that also trade in the futures and options markets before circuit breakers are designed to kick-in. “It seems like possibly somebody has done a freak trade in Tata Motors and UltraTech because in large cap stocks the bid-ask gap is not huge,” said G. Chokkalingam, chief investment officer at Centrum Wealth Management.

The falls on Friday also revived concerns about whether Indian exchanges are equipped to deal with potentially much bigger incidents of the type if not the magnitude of the Wall Street “flash-crash” of May 2010. In April last year a sudden drop in NSE futures jolted investors, although the NSE said it was not caused by an erroneous trade. During the $2.6 billion auction of shares in state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp last year the websites of the two main exchanges failed to update bid activity after 3:20 p.m., 10 minutes before the close of the auction, leaving investors in the dark for several hours.

In December the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) unveiled a new set of measures aimed at avoiding sudden price moves, including reducing the trading band for a wide category of stocks and capping single orders at nearly $2 million. Confidence in India’s two established exchanges is an especially sensitive topic for bourse officials as new exchange operator MCX-SX is due to start share trading on February 11. One of MCX-SX’S two controlling stakeholders is Financial Technologies (FITE.NS), a provider of front-end trading technology that has over an 80 percent market share for NSE and BSE terminals.

The bubbly actress from Himachal Pradesh was first noticed in the Liril soap commercial.

After graduating with a degree in criminal psychology, Preity made her acting debut in the film ‘Dil Se..’ in 1998 followed by a lead role in ‘Soldier’ the same year. The performances earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, and she was also acclaimed for her role as a teenage single mother in ‘Kya Kehna’ (2000). She started playing a diverse range of characters for her film roles, and her depiction of screen persona contributed to a change in the concept of a Hindi film heroine.

Preity delivered a number of successful films including ‘Videsh – Heaven On Earth’, ‘The Last Lear’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, ‘Veer Zaara’, ‘Lakshya’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, and ‘Salaam Namaste’. She received a Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2003 for her performance in the film ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’.

Her first international film role was in the Canadian film ‘Heaven on Earth’, for which she was awarded the Silver Hugo Award for Best Actress at the 2008 Chicago International Film Festival. Besides films, Preity made her small screen debut in 2011 with ‘Guinness World Records-Ab India Todega’.

She is the founder of the production company PZNZ Media and, along with ex-boyfriend Ness Wadia, a co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kings XI Punjab. The actress is not only a brave businessman and actress, but she never refrains from public speaking, which led her testify against the Indian mafia during the 2003 Bharat Shah case, for which she was awarded the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award. Preity will be seen next in her upcoming film ‘Ishkq In Paris’.

Vishwaroopam ban

Actors Salman Khan, Siddharth, Shabana Azmi, Khushboo and Rahul Bose and filmmakers Shyam Benegal, Ananth Mahadevan, Kalpana Lajmi, R Balki, Priyadarshan, Anusha Rizvi and Rensil D’Silva – celebs from both Bollywood and the South – have reacted strongly to the ban imposed by the Tamil Nadu government on Kamal Hassan’s controversial film Vishwaroopam.

This is what they said and/or tweeted: Salman Khan posted a picture of Haasan with the words, “Respect the art, respect the artist, respect the audience. I support Kamal Haasan.” He also tweeted: “Sure . 100% gonna see it . Dekho yaar its a movie n thr r only 2 kinds of movies good or bad. hit n flop N only people who decide r 1s who buy tickets.” He also posted newspaper articles that talk about the issue, and said, “Censor board has passed it too naaa”. Shabana Azmi: The Supreme Court ruled in the case of Prakash Jha’s film Aarakshan that once a movie was cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification no state can impose a ban on a film.

It is the government’s business to give value to its own certification and ensure the film is shown. Those who protest have the right to do so. But if they do so violently then the law of the land must apply to them. If people are offended by Vishwaroopam, let them not watch the film. How can they take away the right of others who want to watch it? The Tamil Nadu government is being unfair to Vishwaroopam and to the minorities it claims to protect. For starters, have they even watched the film? India’s audience is not a monolith. Some may be moved, some may be offended, or claim to be offended for political gains. So be it.

Nobody is forcing the film down anyone’s throat. The space for freedom of expression is shrinking and we must act now to stem the tide. Shabana Azmi tweets: Javed suggests Govt shud disband CBFC bcoz its certificate has NO value.Any group of 10 odd people who r ‘offended’ can hold a film 2 ransom. Problem is that People have far more opinion than they have information.Pause. Listen. Process. Then speak. The purpose of Art is not only to placate and please. It is also to provoke, stimulate and initiate discussion.

TN govt wants 2 protect those who r ‘offended’ Im offended too when Im prevented from watching a film passed by CBFC. TN Govt r u listening. Shyam Benegal: What is happening to Kamal’s film is very peculiar. It reeks of some kind of a vendetta. It doesn’t make any sense. The fact is the hero of the film plays a patriotic Muslim doing good things for the country. They’ve simply gone against their own rules. Once the censorboard clears the film and if any section of the audience has any doubts or fears, the matter must be referred back to the censor board. You (the state) cannot do things entirely on your own.

If you are doing things on your own then why have the censor board in the first place? A censor certificate is valid in the entire country, and should not be disregarded in one state. A censor certificate has semi-judicial status. Priyadarshan: Nobody has the right to ban the freedom of expression. Subhash Kapoor: I think this is an attack on freedom of expression of a filmmaker. It is not only undemocratic but also sets a dangerous precedent. The state should not succumb to such pressure tactics by politically motivated groups. Siddharth: Vishwaroopam must be edited beyond recognition if it wants to be screened in Tamil Nadu.

This is the death knell for democracy, secularism and cinema. The ban on Vishwaroopam is regressive. It’s a back-to-the-dark ages blow by the Tamil Nadu government. How do we make a change? My deepest condolences to Kamal Haasan. Khushboo: If this can happen to a man who has put in 50 years and every penny he has earned into films, and someone who eats, drinks, breathes and lives for the love of cinema, I wonder what lies in store for others. Mani Shankar: It’s a gross travesty of creative freedom.

I can’t understand how any state government can usurp power from the CBFC which has cleared Vishwaroopam. Is one censor board not enough? Do filmmakers have to please every government and non-government body to release a film? Ananth Mahadevan: I haven’t seen Vishwaroopam as yet. But from what I’ve gathered after its Cochin and New York shows, the film is as much an entertainer as any mass appeal film. Rahul Bose: “I don’t think there was anything objectionable in Vishwaroopam for it to be banned. The government must watch each controversial film. If they find it unconstitutional, they must prosecute it and if found otherwise, they must protect it.”

And by the end of the first season of this talk show on Star Plus, the NGO had managed to collect approximately Rs 1.13 crores.

This money was used to build a shelter for helpless women, children and rape victims in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The inauguration of Satyamev Jayate Bhawan – duly named after the talk-show – witnessed a heartwarming performance by music composer Ram Sampath. “Aamir wanted to attend the launch. So he specially took time out for it,” a birdie revealed. Mr Perfectionist, just back from his trip to Thailand with wife Kiran Rao, managed to squeeze in time for the Bhawan’s launch before he resumed work on Dhoom:3.

“This centre will provide women with food and shelter and eventually rehabilitate them,” a feathered friend said in an interview. And Aamir Khan’s spokesperson said that the actor was touched to receive so much love from kids at the Bhawan. Kudos to Aamir Khan, his team of Satyamev Jayate and NGO Snehalaya for taking up such a noble cause.

Agencies, Sofia Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) president Borislav Mihaylov says he will meet with Prime Minister Boiko Borisov to discuss a possible bid to host a Euro 2020 match.

Last week, European soccer’s governing body UEFA said that Euro 2020 will be held in 13 cities across the continent rather than one or two countries in a radical departure from the traditional format for major tournaments. ‘In general, all games must be played at 50,000-capacity stadiums or at bigger ones,’ Mihaylov, who is also a UEFA Executive Committee member, told local media on Monday.

‘UEFA will make only two exceptions and give two cities, which have stadiums with smaller capacity, the chance to host matches. This will be done to give smaller countries like Bulgaria an opportunity to host a match in the group stage.’ Bulgaria’s Vasil Levski national stadium, located in the centre of capital Sofia, has 43,230 seats but needs to be renovated to meet criteria set by UEFA. Last year, the 53-year-old Borisov, who is still playing for third division team Vitosha Bistritsa, said the government was planning to construct several new stadiums if soccer authorities manage to attract fans back to grounds. ‘The most important thing now is to talk to Prime Minister Boiko Borisov in the coming days about the government’s intentions and whether it wants to participate in the construction of a stadium that meets the criteria set by UEFA,’ said Mihaylov.

‘If we reach an agreement, we can bid to host one or two matches,’ he remarked, adding that UEFA will officially announce its requirements at March’s Executive Committee meeting in Sofia. ‘I believe that the prime minister, who is a sports person and does a lot for sport and football in particular, will support us.’ According to media reports, Bulgaria’s neighbour Romania is also interested in hosting matches at Euro 2020 though local soccer authorities have not confirmed the stories. In 2011, Bulgaria and Romania considered a joint bid for Euro 2020. Yugoslavia, which collapsed in the early 1990s, is the only Balkan country to have ever hosted a European championship finals. In 1976, the final four-team tournament was held in Belgrade and Zagreb. Last week, the Serbian FA secretary general said Belgrade is hoping to host a game in 2020.

Celebrations were long and noisy for the world number one after her win over Li Na in yesterday’s eventful final, when she overcame a hostile crowd and a host of distractions to successfully defend her title. After a night on the town with her boyfriend, colourful LMFAO musician Redfoo, the world number one had just four hours’ sleep before confidently telling media she believes she can “make it happen” at any major.

“Every one,” said the tall blonde, 23, when asked which Grand Slam tournament she would most like to win this year. “I mean, you cannot prefer any because they are so different, so special. “So it’s really, really hard. I don’t rate my chances. I just make it happen. I don’t rate, I don’t look at statistics. I just make it happen.” Last evening started bleakly for Azarenka when, extraordinarily for a Grand Slam final, she was subjected to jeers and occasional boos at Rod Laver Arena, and near-silence when she won important points.

Azarenka had raised suspicions of gamesmanship in her semi-final against Sloane Stephens, when she took a medical timeout after blowing five match points, and then returned and broke for victory. But after Li fell twice, twisting her ankle and briefly blacking out, and the match was interrupted for fireworks, Azarenka was able to master the distractions and retain her only Grand Slam title Afterwards, as she strode through the stadium corridors with the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup, accompanied by the wild-haired Redfoo, she exuded the satisfaction of a woman who had faced her critics, and won. “It’s been a rollercoaster, definitely,” she admitted.

“I had to go through things. I have my team around me, and they’re like my family. They’re taking care of me and they’re really strong.” Now comes the rest of the season, and high on the list is improving her lopsided won one, lost 11 record against the mighty Williams, considered easily the best women’s player when fit. “I’m sure we’re going to have a few matches,” Azarenka said. “To predict, I never do that.

I just try to work hard. I can always say Serena, Maria (Sharapova), Li Na, all these girls, they really push to improve. “We elevate each other. That’s what’s great about women’s tennis right now.” Azarenka won six titles in 2012, including the Australian Open, to become world number one, a position she has defended from Williams with yesterday’s victory. Now backed by Redfoo, unmissable in his leopardskin and lime-green hoodie, and ‘Get Your Grunt On’ T-shirt, Azarenka is not looking back. “I want to top that,” she said. “I have left all my memories in 2012. I’ve kind of cleared my head to make new memories.”

Agencies, Dharamsala India paid the price for some poor shot selection by their top order batsmen as England rode on Ian Bell’s unbeaten century to salvage some pride by winning the fifth and final one-dayer by seven wickets and reduce the margin of defeat to 3-2 here today.

The visitors first dismissed the hosts for a modest 226 and then relied on Bell’s third ODI ton — 113 not out — to overhaul the target with 16 balls to spare at the picturesque HPCA stadium which hosted its first international match. The Indians, who had already clinched the series in Mohali by taking an unassailable 3-1 lead, were done in by some poor shots by their top oder batsmen and could never really recover from the early jolts despite Suresh Raina’s brilliant effort of 83 under pressure.

Tim Bresnan caused the bulk of the damage with 4/45 while Steve Finn and James Tredwell chipped in with two wickets apiece as the English bowlers exploited the bowler-friendly conditions after winning the toss and putting the home side into bat. The Indians slumped to a precarious 79 for five as Gautam Gambhir (24), Rohit Sharma (4), Virat Kohli (0), Yuvraj Singh (0) and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (15) perished in quick succession with some of them playing atrocious shots.

Raina’s brilliant counter-attacking 83 off 98 balls and and some useful contributions from Ravindra Jadeja (39) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (31) took India to 226. In their bid to chase down the target of 227, England openers Alastair Cook and Ian Bell started confidently putting in 53 runs before Ishant Sharma, who bowled an incisive first spell, broke the partnership. Since his comeback into the Indian ODI team, this is by far Ishant’s best performance as he found the length from his very first delivery which came in after pitching and umpire Sudhir Asnani failed to detect the faint edge off Cook’s bat. The England captain was batting on 13 but he could add only nine runs to get to 22 before another delivery cut back sharply to knock the middle-stump back. Ishant’s brilliant first spell figures read 5-3-9-1 and but Shami Ahmed and Bhuvneshwar Kumar leaked a few boundaries.

The Bengal speedster showed a lot of heart by inducing the dangerous Kevin Pietersen to go for a pull shot. The batsman top-edged it and Ravindra Jadeja, running from long leg towards square leg, took a well-judged catch. Bell, by far England’s most consistent ODI player in recent times, carried on with minimum fuss, punishing the bowlers for loose balls and also guiding the talented Joe Root as the duo cruised along in their 79-run third wicket stand. Root was finally dismissed when Jadeja produced a classical left-arm spinner’s delivery as he beat the batsman in flight and the ball turned a shade after pitching to clip the off-bail. Root made 31 off 49 balls. Bell reached the 90s with a reverse sweep off Ravichandran Ashwin, who was trying too many variations without much success. He reached a well deserved century by clipping Ishant to mid-wicket fence. Bell was joined by another seasoned pro in Eoin Morgan who hit Ashwin for a huge six followed by even bigger sixes off Shami Ahmed’s bowling as they closed the match with consummate ease. Earlier, a swashbuckling knock by Suresh Raina helped India reach a decent a total of 226 in 49.4 overs after they were pegged back at 79 for five at one stage.

Raina, who scored 83 off 98 balls, added 78 runs for the sixth wicket with Jadeja, to help Indian total gain a semblance of respectability. Jadeja’s contribution was 39 off 65 balls with a boundary and two sixes. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also did his bit by playing a little cameo of 31 runs that helped India cross the 225-run mark which had looked improbable after the first 15 overs. But, it was Raina whose innings ensured that the likes of Bhuvneshwar and Shami Ahmed have a total to bowl at. En route his fourth successive half-century in the series, the left-hander from Uttar Pradesh made a strong case for himself being promoted up the order ahead of Yuvraj Singh whose form has been scratchy of late. Raina, who was dropped twice on individual scores of five and 61, hit eight boundaries and two huge sixes.

He incidentally also completed 4000 ODI runs in his 159th match. Save those couple of blemishes, it was a treat to watch his strokeplay as the ball raced past the lightning quick outfield. The two sixes, one each of Tredwell and Root, was hit straight into the sightscreen. The standout shot certainly was an inside-out shot over extra cover off Root’s bowling which brought up his 50. Dabur Gulabari is synonymous to pure Rose Water in India. For years now, I have been a loyal user of the Dabur Gulabari.

After a long, hard day of shoot, I always cleanse my face with the Dabur Gulabari Rose Water to get back that Rose Glow on my face. Gulabari is also a must-have ingredient for my face packs. The Dabur Gulabari Face Freshener spray is another favorite as I can carry it in my purse while am out shooting in the Sun. I spray it on my face and get refreshed instantly. Dabur Gulabari, in fact, has always been an essential part of my daily skin care routine.”

Sonakshi will soon feature in a 360-degree multimedia campaign, encompassing print, electronic and online media. In the new campaign, Sonakshi will share her tips on using Dabur Gulabari for daily skin care. Under this initiative, Dabur Gulabari will also be launching a coffee table book – Beauty Secrets of Beauty Queens — that will capture the secret behind Sonakshi’s Rose glow and share it with the millions of young girls. The book will feature the secret beauty recipes of Sonakshi Sinha and her skin care routine.
It will also be an opportunity for millions of consumers of Dabur Gulabari to write in their secret beauty recipes and how they incorporate rose water in their daily skin care regime.
“The over a decade-old Dabur Gulabari has been cherished by women across India as the only brand that offers the goodness and lingering fragrance of rose. Sonakshi, with her natural elegance, charm, confidence and grace, was the natural choice as a brand ambassador for Dabur Gulabari,” said Mr. Sanjay Singal, Head of Marketing – Skin Care, Dabur India Ltd.
The skin care coffee table book, Mr. Singal added, is another opportunity to reach out to the millions of hard-core fans of Dabur Gulabari and understand the secret behind their rose glow.
“We will be asking our consumers to write in their beauty tips and secret recipes where they have incorporated Rose Water in their beauty care regime. This book will be a true celebration of beauty,” he said.
