PC hits back at Modi for recounting minister remark

Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today slammed BJP prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his ‘Recounting Minister’ remarks made against him.

‘The Gujarat Chief Minister has once again staged a fake encounter with facts on the issue and that there was never a recount in the 2009 Parliament elections in Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency,’ said Mr Chidambaram in a statement,  here.
He said in the 2009 Parliament election, the votes were counted only once in Sivaganga constituency. There was no recount. In fact, the complaint of the defeated candidate was that his belated request for recount was rejected by the returning officer.

‘Everybody, except Mr Narendra Modi knows this fact and I am sure that he (Mr Modi) will stage more fake encounters with facts and entertain people,’ he said.11
