Mr Jung said passing the version of Lokpal Bill that led veteran social activist Anna Hazare to undertake a fast, will be a priority for the Delhi Government. ‘’We intend to take all steps to end corruption in government departments,’’ Mr Jung said while addressing the first session (winter session) of fifth Legislative Assembly of Delhi.
In his short speech, Mr Jung presented a brief highlight of the Delhi Government’s blueprint for developing Delhi.
An action plan for regularising the unauthorised colonies within a year is being drawn up, the Lt Governor said. The Delhi Government is committed to provide regular jobs to those who are at present working on contracts, Mr Jung said. ‘’This would not only provide them secure incomes, but also increase the sense of job security. Presently, many employees are subjected to exploitation and uncertainty. This needs to end,’’ Mr Jung stated.
Concerns and needs of the common citizen will be top priority of the Delhi Government, the Lt Governor said. The Government will leave no stone unturned to ensure implementation of its programmes and policies, Mr Jung added.
