Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute to Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee on his 65th death anniversary, while dedicating Mohanpura major irrigation project costing worth approximate Rs 4000 crores in Rajgarh district.
The Prime Minister said that the Government of India will fulfill the dreams of the countrymen on the lines of Dr. Mukherjee’s thoughts. Education, health and safety will be the priority of the Government of India so that the youth get good high education and they can always remain dedicated to serve the society.
He said that there should be coordination between Vidya, Vitta and Vikas (Education, Finance and Development), there should be similarity in the ideologies of the educational institutions and industrial organisations only then can the country be strengthened economically.
Modi said that the previous governments had forgotten the contribution of several great personalities like Dr. Mukherji in the development and making of the country. Our government will fill this gap.
We will realise the dreams of the country’s great personalities and sons of the country. The first work of the government is public service and taking the standard of living of people higher.
Prime Minister Modi said that fulfilling the dreams of citizens is our highest priority. We will not repeat the shortcomings of the previous governments. People’s capabilities and resources will not be ignored.
Looking at the large gathering of farmers and villagers at the dedication ceremony, Modi said that now there is no place for people who spread lies, illusions, and despair in the society. The countrymen have expressed their faith in our policies. We will not let this belief break at any cost.
Government of India to encourage Micro Irrigation
Prime Minister Modi said that micro-irrigation system will be promoted in the country to ensure maximum use of every single drop of water of irrigation projects for irrigation. He said that presently irrigation facility is being provided in 25 lakh hectare area through micro-irrigation system.
Out of this, 11 lakh hectare area is of Madhya Pradesh. Referring to the recent discussion with farmers held recently, Modi said that women farmers of Jhabua district’s tribal region have created a record of advanced farming of tomatoes through drip irrigation system. He informed that the currently 35 lakh farmers are availing the benefits of Prime Minister’s crop insurance.
An integrated network of over 575 krishi upaj mandis has been created in the country, in which 58 mandis of Madhya Pradesh have been connected through the network. The Prime Minister said that through this system farmers will be able to sell their produce directly in the Mandi.
CM Chouhan is real ‘Sevak’ of Madhya Pradesh
Praising the efforts being made for the betterment of poor, labourers, needy and farmers of Madhya Pradesh Prime Minister Modi said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has done a remarkable job of bringing the state out from the category of ‘Bimaru’ state. Chouhan is playing the role of a real ‘Sevak’ in service of the state. Government of India lauds these efforts of Chouhan.
Congratulating all those associated with the Mohanpura major irrigation project, from conception to construction the Prime Minister said that this project is not only of Rajgarh but it is one of those major projects of Madhya Pradesh, which will give direct benefits to 725 villages.
Adequate drinking water supply will be ensured in these villages. By completing this project the Chief Minister has actually worked for the betterment of the women and farmers of Madhya Pradesh. This project has paved the way for the prosperity of Malwa region of the state.
Shri Modi said that Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has freed the state of Madhya Pradesh from the identity of a backward state. The major irrigation project in Rajgarh is the proof of the Chief Minister’s thinking and farsightedness.
PM brought country from confusion to commitment: Dr. Mishra
In his welcome address Water Resources Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said that the whole world is eager to welcome a personality like Prime Minister Modi. He said that Modi has dedicated his life to the formation of a new India. He has proved that success is possible through ‘Sanskar’ (culture) and not ‘Ahankar’ (ego).
Dr. Mishra said that when Modi had got power, the situation was not favourable. Modi took the country out from confusion to commitment. Dr. Mishra said that earlier Rajgarh was known as Pathalgarh. Now with Mohanpura project coming into existence, the whole area will turn into a green area. He said that this area remained rocky due to the negligence of the previous governments.
Mohanpura Major Irrigation Project – An introduction
As soon as Prime Minister Modi dedicated the project, the happiness of the massive gathering present at the spot knew no bounds and the entire atmosphere echoed with sounds of applause.
The joy on the people’s faces was apparent and it was obvious from their faces that now no village will remain deprived of drinking water and irrigation in Rajgarh. There will be crops all over the district. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of rural group water supply schemes in Pahargarh, Gorakhpura and Bankapur-Kushalpura.
The Mohanpura Irrigation Project worth approximate Rs 4000 crores will benefit 727 villages in Rajgarh district. The citizens of Rajgarh district will be able to avail 8 million cubic metre drinking water and 5 million cubic metre for industrial areas through this dam constructed on the project.
The construction work of this project was started in year 2014. Its water logged capacity is 616.27 million cubic metre. The state government has ensured arrangement to take water directly to the fields of farmers through this project.
PM Modi is the most popular leader of the world: CM Chouhan
The CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said in the dedication programme that the Prime Minister has accomplished many significant woks to establish peace in the world besides the overall development of the country. Modi has become the most popular leader of the world because of his personality accomplishments and achievements.
Chouhan further mentioned that this is the first historic visit of the PM Modi to Rajgarh. He informed that Modi has brought schemes to change the fate and scenario of the state.
Moreover, Chouhan said that the Mohanpura Major Irrigation Project will change the picture of Rajgarh district. He asserted that the farmers of Madhya Pradesh has left Punjab state behind in the field of agriculture and irrigation. Record production has been registered in Madhya Pradesh since last so many years in the field of agriculture.
The state government has scheme to enhance irrigation capacity in the state in the next few years to 80 lakh hectare area. Madhya Pradesh will cooperate fully to accomplish the mission of the PM Modi to double farmers’ income by 2022.
He informed that the farmers of the state used to face problem of electricity, water, roads and fertilisers always during the previous governments. He said that everything has changed now, farmers of the state are getting all these facilities at their villages and agriculture fields with convenience.
CM Chouhan urged people of Rajgarh for their cooperation to make new Madhya Pradesh along with new Rajgarh and to discharge their duties with commitment.
Prime Minister lauded Madhya Pradesh
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioning about the progress in various sectors and people’s prosperity has said that this state has become one of the developing state of the country. The state has eliminated its identity of backwardness completely. Rajgarh district has become aspiration district. Special focus will be laid on education, health and employment besides development in other sectors in this district.
The PM Modi has said that various development activities will be implemented in aspiration districts of Madhya Pradesh under the Rashtriya Gram Vikas Abhiyan.
Every house of every village will have gas connections in these districts. Every family will have ban account. Complete vaccination will be undertaken in every village.
Every village will have all basic amenities. The Prime Minister further mentioned that India as dreamed by Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee will be built by the progress of villages only.
At the beginning of dedication programme, CM Chouhan presented Tulsi Mala to the Prime Minister Modi and welcomed him by presenting turban. The PM Modi released irrigation work plan on this occasion.
The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel, MPs Rakesh Singh, Rodmal Nagar, Local MLAs, other Public Representatives, Chief Secretary B.P.Singh and DGP R.K. Shukla besides citizens and farmers in huge number were presented in the programme.
