Senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari has said that investigations into the Purti Group by Income Tax (IT) department has not established his role in the entire affair as yet.

‘’I haven’t got a single notice from the IT department or any other regulator so far’’, he said.

Mr Gadkari was speaking as a chief guest at the inauguration of seminar on MVAT Audit organised by ICAI, Nagpur.

‘’All I have in the Purti Group is just shares worth Rs 3,000’’, he reiterated.

Mr Gadkari had to step down as the national BJP president after questions were raised about sourcing of Purti Group’s capital from shell companies and was summoned by the IT Department last year in this regard.

Criticising the UPA Government, Mr Gadkari said because of a flawed policy and lack of will power to promote industrial growth, the big corporate houses as well  as SMEs are facing various problems in the country.
