New Delhi, Ahead of his Biopic ‘Soorma’s release, national Hockey Player Sandeep Singh becomes the first Indian Hockey player to get a wax statue.
Jaipur Wax Museum at Nahargarh Fort will soon be having a wax statue of our hockey legend Sandeep Singh.
Sandeep has been a popular choice amongst the visitors for a wax statue. The wax museum chooses icons on the basis of suggestions and requests posted by visitors, and Sandeep tops the list.
Interestingly, Dhyan Chand who is considered as the greatest field hockey players in the history of the sport will get his wax statue installed post Sandeep’s Wax Statue.
Sandeep took to his social media and posted a picture announcing the news and captioned it, “It’s really honour to see own wax statue in Jaipur wax museum.proud moment ……thanks to all supporters and lovers can’t wait #sandeepsingh #waxstatue #jaipurmuseum#soorma #13july @diljitdosanjh @taapsee @angadbedi @chitrangda @thesneharajani @sonypicsprodns @bikramjeet007”
Sandeep’s story is so inspirational that a Bollywood biopic is being made named ‘Soorma’ on his life where his role is portrayed by actor/singer Diljit Dosanjh.
Diljit who will be playing Sandeep’s character on-screen shared, “I feel proud to be part of Soorma a Biopic made on Sandeep Singh. Sandeep has never failed to make India proud, be it on field or off it, he keeps setting the benchmark higher.”
Sandeep is regarded as the most dangerous drag-flickers of all time with drag speeds of over 145 km/hr which led to his nickname, ‘Flicker Singh’.
The drag-flickers journey – of wins, losses, life, and death – will soon be seen on-screen in Soorma, a Shaad Ali directorial, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu.
Soorma is produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh, and Deepak Singh which will release on July 13.
