National Commission for ST holds choupal at Rated village in Patalkot

All members and officers of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes reached Patalkot area in Chhindwada district with their works undertaken for development and welfare of scheduled tribes and study/redressal of problems.

The Commission organized a choupal at Rated village in Patalkot and collected information of development and problems of Special Backward Tribe Bhariya. Commission Chairman Nandkumar Sai gave information of problems brought up before the Commission to the State government and urged for speedy redressal.

Commission Vice-Chairman Sushri Anusuiya Uike said that positive steps will be taken on the demands related to development and welfare of the tribes. Commission Secretary Raghav Chandra gave instructions to PHE officer to ensure immediate arrangement for drinking water.

Principal Secretary S.N, Mishra said that the wage payment related problems will be solved soon. The Collector said that priority will be given to pension related cases and other problems being faced by the tribes of the area.

The Commission has demanded report of the solution of the problems raised by Bhariya tribes. Other members of the Commission including H.K. Damor, Smt. Maya Ivnati, Joint Secretary A.K. Rath and Director Smt. K.D. Bansor were also present on the occasion. District Panchayat President Smt. Kanta Thakur and Uttam Singh Thakur were also present.

The Commission distributed blankets to senior citizens of the Bhariya tribe. Commission Chairman Sai said during a meeting at Tamiya before the Rated Choupal that the tribes should pay special attention to education for their own development.

He said that efforts should be made to fill posts of teachers in rural areas. He also said that the land belonging to adivasis should not be transferred to non-adivasis and kept safe. Sai said that efforts being made for the development of the tribes should be constantly reviewed. Commission’s tour.

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes is on a state tour from October 25-28. The Commission visited and inspected villages and adivasi institutions of Chhindwada and Tamiya on October 25. Today the Commission visited Hoshangabad district.

The Commission met local people near Pachmarhi. Adivasi Sangathans and public representatives will meet the Commission at Hotel Courtyard Marriott on October 27 from 9 am to 10 am.

A meeting of the Commission with the state government officials is scheduled at 11 am at the Mantralaya. Commission Chairman Nandkumar Sai, Vice-Chairman Sushri Anusuiya Uike, Secretary Raghav Chandra besides three other members are on a tour of Madhya Pradesh.
