Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Islamic holy month of Ramzan, is being celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the country today.
Eid prayers offered at various historical mosques like the Jama Masjid. After the prayers, families, friends, acquaintances and others were greeted with the traditional ‘’Eid Mubarak’’, embracing one another and savouring delicious special Eid dish ‘’sheer-khorma’’, a sweet preparation of milk, vermicelli (sewainya) and dry fruits.
Eid festivities began from last evening after Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri that Eid will be celebrated across the country the next day. On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people.
‘’Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May this auspicious day strengthen the bond of peace, unity & brotherhood across our Nation,’ the Prime Minister said in a statement.
