Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, At the 64th Under-17 School National Boys and Girls Boxing Championship held in Guwahati last days, MP Boxing Academy athletes won 4 medals with 1 gold and 3 bronze medals.
Amongst the medallists, Aman won a gold medal in the 81 kg category. Likewise, Abhinav Bhargav and Anand Yadav won a bronze each in the 66 and 48 kg weight categories respectively. Furthermore, Mahi Lama bagged a bronze in the 60 kg women’s category. Consequently, the athletes have qualified for the Khelo India Games that will be held in Pune.
Along with these boxers, academy’s Surbhi Yadav in 50 kg, Bhoomi Singh in 52 kg and Avdhesh Gautam qualified in 70 kg weight categories for Khelo India Games.
Today, the medalists met with Dr. S.L. Thaosen, the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, MP. Expressing his happiness over the performance of the boxers, he praised and motivated them to perform their best at Khelo India.
It is worth mentioning that these athletes have been undergoing high-performance training under the guidance of Boxing Academy Chief Coach Mr. Roshanlal, and International Coach from Cuba Mr. Roman Romero Drake.
