After giving anxious moments the monsoon revived in the state the last week of July. It is Eastern Monsoon coming from Bay of Bengal system from Chhattisgarh side. The July rains are generally deluge and heavy all over. But the second phase is not in that fury. The only consolation is that it is wide spread in the state in the Jabalpur, Seoni, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Shahdol, Damoh, Mandla, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, Katni, Datia, Sagar districts.
The Western districts of the state are still awaiting rains from the western monsoon. It entered from Kerala and has reached upto Mumbai metropolis and has not advanced into Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra. But it is expected to come over now soon. Even now the Eastern and Western monsoon will help the farmers to rush for sowing to Kharif crops. The main problem is the prospects for Soyabean and paddy are dull. The late rains spoiled its time table.
