Modi wraps up Mozambique visit, heads to South Africa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his day long visit to Mozambique today with an interaction with Indian Community and a tour to Centre for Innovation and Technological Development which is built through India’s Line of Credit.

In the second leg of his four-nation visit of mainland Africa, Mr Modi is now headed to South Africa where he will have meetings with President Jacob Zuma and other senior leaders across the political spectrum to further enhance India’s historical relations with South Africa. With South Africa, India cooperates and work closely also in multi-lateral fora like Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS), India, Brazil, South Africa(IBSA), G20 and Brazil, South Africa, India and China(BASIC).

The Prime Minister is also expected to visit Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg and Durban during the visit. Pietermaritzburg is the place where Mahatma Gandhi was thrown out of the train compartment. Mr Modi has packed programme tomorrow in Pretoria, starting with ceremonial welcome followed by delegation level talks.
