BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi today promised to give ‘Ramrajya’ to the people of Faizabad and called upon them to give him a strong government so that he could give a powerful India.
‘Ramrajya was the ultimate dream of Mahatma Gandhi but in the past 60 years this could not be achieved due to the wrong policies of the Congress-led government,’ he said without referring to the Ayodhya issue in Faizabad at an election meeting here.
The meeting held at the GIC ground, had an image of Lord Ram in the background while a model of the Ram temple of Ayodhya was also placed on the dais.
Earlier, Mr Modi addressed a similar election meeting in Akbarpur in Ambedkarnagar district and will address three more meetings in Jaunpur, Kaushambi and Amethi later in the day.
The Gujarat CM virtually went for an interactive session with his supporters and asked them to reply on the bad governance in UP.
He said vote bank politics has plunged the country into backwardness and in the past 60 years’ rule of the Congress dividing politics was the main agenda of any government.
‘The Baap-Beta and Behenji governments in UP were responsible for the backwardness of the state,’ he said and urged the people to seek an account from these parties.
‘SP and BSP have khusti (wrestling) with Congress in UP but in Delhi they have a friendly tie and support each other in all the misdeeds,’ he further added.
