MLA honey trap case: Police to take girl to Noida to collect evidence

The journalism student arrested for blackmailing MLA Hemant Katare was produced in the court on Wednesday. The hearing in this case has been adjourned till March 8.

Meanwhile the SIT will take the girl to Noida and Delhi to collect evidence in the case. It is believed the police will scan the CCTV footages of the hotels and places where she has alleged she was sexually exploited.

Meanwhile talking with the media outside the court the girl has alleged Katare could influence the evidence.

The SIT has launched investigations into the charges of rape and abduction leveled by the girl against MLA Katare. SP (South) Rahul Kumar Lodha convened a meeting of SIT officials and discussed issues related to investigations in the case.

The officials said the meeting was confidential and refused to share details. Sources said notice could soon be issued to Katare to record his statement. Meanwhile co-accused in the blackmailing case Vikramjit Singh could surrender soon. Sources said he could surrender on Thursday.

Used car sold in place of new, 1 held

Misrod police have nabbed a car dealer for selling a used car in place of new car and duping the victim to the tune of Rs 11 lakh. The accused was nabbed after the victim lodged a complaint with police on Tuesday.

The accused identified as Nisan Auto Dealer Taranjeet Singh was nabbed after a complaint was lodged by the victim Vinita Saxena who found that the accused had sold used car instead of new car.

In her complaint the victim stated that she bought a card in the month of July 2016 and it was told that the manufacturing year of the car was 2015. Later it was found that the manufacturing year of the car was 2014 and was sold after repairing the car.

The victim bought Sunny XL Sedan and was told that the car was new and provided registration number MP04-CR-1808. The price of the car which was finalized was Rs 11 lakh and the victim made a payment of Rs 9.65 lakh.

Initially the victim asked for return of the vehicle and refund of the money but the owner of the Ranjeet Automobiles Taranjeet Singh and Gurjeet Singh refused to help after which the victim lodged a complaint with the police. Police have nabbed Taranjeet while Gurjeet is yet to be arrested. Search for the accused has been started.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police registered a case under section 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC and started further investigation.

Jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh stolen

Gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh were burgled from BDA Colony under Koh-e-Fiza police station area on Tuesday. Police said that the victim Johar had gone to work and in the afternoon neighbours informed that the door was open and on his return the valuables were found burgled.

A complaint was made by the victim with the Koh-e-Fiza police and in the complaint the victim had claimed that on his return he found that the locks were broken and on entering the house was found ransacked. Gold and silver jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 2.5 lakh were found missing claimed the victim.

Victim works with BMC in Narmada project. His family had gone to meet relatives around 4 days ago and in the morning on Tuesday the victim had gone for work and in the afternoon he received information that the house was burgled.

In the burglary the almirah which was having the valuables was targeted and the other valuables were not disturbed. The lock of the almirah was found broken and the cash and gold jewelry were found burgled.

The police have registered a case under section 454 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.

Meanwhile, valuables worth Rs 50,000 were burgled from Banjari village under Kolar police station area on Tuesday. The victim Devendra Kumar had gone for some work and on return the house was found burgled.

The total loss in the burglary was Rs 50,000 stated the victim in his complaint. The police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
