Miscreants create ruckus, fire in air in Khanugaon

Gamblers arrested

Parvalia police have arrested gamblers from Neelbad area on Wednesday.
Police received information that some people were gambling outside the house of one Jameel Khan in village Neelbad. Police raided the place and arrested about one-and-half dozen gamblers including Jeesan, 22, resident of Mangalwara, Ashif Qureshi, Anas, resident of Islampura, Zuber Quresh, Mohammad Anwar and Maqsood. Police recovered Rs 32,000 cash and mobiles from them.

Miscreants create ruckus, fire in air in Khanugaon

Under Koh-e-fiza police station, some miscreants created ruckus and fired in air outside a house in Khanungaon on Tuesday night. According to Koh-e-fiza police, Seema, 40, wife of Mohammad Raees, lives in Khanungaon. Her husband is currently in jail. Her nephew Faiz lives with her.

On Tuesday afternoon, local resident Usman came to her house and said he was the ‘dada’ of the area and asked her to address him as ‘bhai’. Usman then left but returned shortly afterwards and enquired about Faiz from Seema. Seema told him that Faiz had gone out.

During the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, some people came to Seema’s house and started creating ruckus. They indulged in sabotage and pelted stones on the house. Seema said Usman and his accomplices also fired in the air. Koh-e-fiza police station in-charge Anil Vajpai said a case has been registered and investigations are on.

Crime Branch to quiz Hemant Katare

The Bhopal Crime Branch will interrogate Congress Hemant Katare in connection with the alleged blackmailing case involving a journalism student Prinshu Singh.

According to ASP Crime Branch Rashmi Mishra, a notice has been served to Katare as per the rules. She said the MLA will be summoned for questioning and his cell phone will also be seized for further investigation. Aspiring woman journalist Prinshu was arrested by the Bhopal police crime branch for allegedly blackmailing and extorting Rs 5 lakh from Hemant Katare.

The 21-year-old woman was arrested by the crime branch sleuths while accepting Rs 5 lakh from Katare. Katare had alleged that the woman, via one of her friends identified as Vikramjit, was blackmailing her with a video in which she claims that he had physical relations with her. The woman Prinshu Singh is in judicial custody and the cops plan to quiz Katare.

Parking contract fraudulently provided

The TT Nagar police have booked two contractual employees of BMC for duping a man to the tune of Rs 1.25 lakh in the name of providing parking contract in front of Palash Residency on January 12.

The contract of parking spaces at gate no; 1 and 2 of the Palash Residency were fraudulently provided at Rs 1.25 lakh. A complaint was lodged by Zonal Officer of Zone 7 Chimanlal Meghani regarding providing of parking space at Rs 1.25 lakh.

In his complaint Meghani stated that Mansoor Hasan who is a 25 day contractual employee of BMC made an agreement with Altaf Beg of parking space at gate no 1 and 2 of Palash Residency.

The police have registered a case under section 420 and 34 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The two accused were nabbed later in the investigation.

Police suspected that the contractual employees are not capable to commit fraud without support of the higher officials and later in the investigation employee and officials would be questioned. Mansoor collected Rs 20000 on January 12 and Rs 30000 from January 16 from Beg and the remaining would be paid as Rs 2500 daily.

Mobile phone robbed, 2 booked

Ashoka Garden police booked two scooter-borne miscreants who robbed a mobile phone from a 32-year-old man at Mayur Vihar Colony late on Tuesday night.

The victim Narendra Malivya was robbed of his mobile phone at around 11.30 pm when he walking towards his house. Before the victim could understand anything, the miscreants escaped with the mobile phone. A complaint was lodged with the Ashoka Garden police by the victim stating that two scooter borne miscreants came from behind and snatched his mobile phone and escaped the spot.

Police clueless in case involving drugging of bus passenger

Meanwhile, Govindpura police is yet to find any clue in Zeher Khurani case in which a Sagar based man was drugged and robbed while on his way to Sagar in a chartered bus on January 4 and valuables worth Rs 2.25 lakh were stolen. A case was registered by Govindpura police on Tuesday.

Police said that the victim Nishant Dubey met the accused who introduced himself as Dharmendra Yadav and offered him tea and later escaped with the valuables. The victim was rushed to hospital in Sagar and was discharged after 3-4 days.

The victim approached Sagar police and a case of zero FIR was registered and later case was transferred to Govindpura police. Police have registered a case of theft and started further investigation.
