Militants attacked a vehicle of Defence Security Corps (DSC) outside the Air Force station in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Tuesday evening, Army sources said here.
They said militants fired few rounds and a grenade at a DSC vehicle outside Air Force station at Malangpora in Pulwama. However, no injuries were reported.
Reinforcement, including police, Army and CRPF, has been rushed and a search operation launched to nab the attackers. DSC provides security to Defence Ministry installations in the country.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI that two to three militants fired and lobbed a grenade at the Air Force Water Pump House, Malangpor located outside the Air Force Station, Awantipora at around 1730 hrs on Tuesday.
“The fire was effectively retaliated by alert sentries, forcing the militants to flee. There was no loss of life,” he said, adding the search operation is underway to nab the attackers.
