MCD polls : BJP hits hat-trick in MCD, wins 183 seats

The BJP today hit a hat-trick by annexing 183 out of 270 seats to the three civic bodies while Aam Aadmi Party is on the second spot with 47 seats and Congress relegated to the third spot with only 29 seats. The BSP however bagged three seats while SP and RLD won one seat each, and independent candidates won six seats.

According to the figures, in East Delhi Municipal Corporation out of 63 seats BJP won 47 seats, AAP 11 and Congress three. BSP has also won two seats. Out of the 103 seats in North Delhi Municipal Corporation, BJP bagged 65 seats, AAP 20, Congress 15, BSP one and two by independent candidates. In South Delhi Municipal Corporation, out of 104 seats, BJP has won 71 seats, AAP 16, Congress 11, RLD and SP one each and four others by the independent candidates.

The East Municipal Corporations have 64 seats while the North and South have 104 seats each. On April 23, polling was held for 270 seats. Polling of two wards was cancelled following deaths of two candidates.
