Maya Singh undertakes surprise inspection of Balika girls shelter home

Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Maya Singh undertook a surprise inspection of Balika girls shelter home at Nehru Nagar and sought information about several issues from the girl inmates here today. She asked in which school girls study, which facilities are required, is there any difficulty, if they get food on time and what did they eat today?

Girls informed Smt. Maya Singh that they have no problems. Only thing they want is a playground and a hall on the ground or first floor. Smt. Singh assured to ensure it at the earliest. Encouraging the girls, Smt. Maya Singh asked them to study hard with concentration, not to consider feel inferior to anyone and brighten their names by proving themselves.

Smt. Maya Singh went round shelter home’s entertainment room, bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, office, store room and other parts. Smt. Singh was accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Child Rights Protection Commission Chairperson Smt. Usha Chaturvedi and Commissioner Women and Child Development Smt. Kalpana Shrivastava.

Mother Teresa Ashram-Nirmala Shishu Bhavan Smt. Maya Singh inspected and took stock of arrangements at Mother Teresa Ashram-Nirmala Shishu Bhavan at Nehru Nagar.

It was informed that the ashram has 40 children ranging from 0 to 10 years of age.

Smt. Singh sought information about ashram’s activities, physiotherapy room, children’s daily routine etc.
