Chief of the Army Staff General Bikram Singh today said that Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh’s martyrdom should not be politicised.
“His sacrifice cannot be weighed against gold, silver or money. L/Nk Singh’s widow Durga will be granted employment with monthly salary exceeding Rs 23,000 besides assistance of Rs 42 lakh,” the top officer said while interacting with the press at L/Nk Singh’s native village Dadhiya, about 35 km from here, after paying tributes to the martyr.
Assuring that the Army will take complete care of Durga, Gen Singh handed over to L/Nk Singh’s brother Satendra Singh a letter of appointment in the JP Cement plant. Satendra will also receive 150 sacks of cement for house construction.
The Army Chief consoled the martyr’s father S Singh, mother and widow.
People gathered there raised slogans of ‘Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh amar rahe’ and ‘Pakistan murdabad’.
His family accompanied Gen Singh. L/Nk Singh and L/Nk Hemraj recently made the supreme sacrifice while defending the Line of Control against Pakistani soldiers.
