Manika Batra clinches gold in women’s singles TT

India’s Manika Batra keeping her momentum of winning gold medal continued at the 21st Commonwealth Games as she won the yellow metal in women’s singles event here on Saturday.

Manika has emerged as the first Indian to bag a singles gold at the Commonwealth Games.

In the finals Manika in a one sided game she thrashed Singapore’s Yu Mengyu, 11-7, 11-6, 11-2, 11-7.

Earlier, on Friday Manika had won gold in the women’s team event, and also bagged silver in women’s doubles with her partner Mouma┬áDas.
