Major fire breaks out in Mumbai’s Kamala Mills, 15 dead, 12 injured

Mumbai,

At least 15 people were killed and 12 others injured after a major fire broke out at a restaurant in Kamala Mills compound at Lower Parel here after midnight on Friday.
According to sources, fire officials were reported about the blaze at 0027 hrs after which eight fire engines and five fire tankers were pressed into service.

Majority of those killed are women. Apparently, the blaze have started at a restaurant at the top floor of the building, although the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, fire officials said.

The injured were admitted to KEM hospital for immediate medical assistance.The building in Central Mumbai houses some commercial establishments including hotels.
