Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Monday after condoling the death of sitting Bharatiya Janata Party MP Hukum Singh, who passed away on Saturday.
Making obituary reference in Lok Sabha, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said Hukum Singh (79), who was MP from Kairana, Uttar Pradesh, passed away on February 3 in Noida.
Hukum Singh was elected as a Member of the UP Legislative Assembly for seven terms.
He had also served as a Cabinet Minister in Uttar Pradesh government under both BJP and the Congress.
As a mark of respect to the memory of sitting BJP member, the house observed silence and was then adjourned for the day.
Earlier, three new members–Dr Karan Singh Yadav (Alwar Parliamentary Constituency, Rajasthan), Raghu Sharma (Ajmer Parliamentary Constiuency, Rajasthan) and Sajda Ahmed (Ulberia Parliamentary Constuency West Bengal) took oath in the House.
