Leader of Opposition hurt during agitation

Thousands of Congress workers staged a demonstration on Friday at the New Market area here, in the presence of the Assembly’s Leader of the Opposition Satyadev Katare and the party’s Madhya Pradesh President Arun Yadav, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board scam and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s resignation. During the agitation, Mr Katare sustained a back injury  when he fell after a water cannon was directed at him while he was attempting to scale a police barricade. He was admitted to a government hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

After Mr Yadav and Mr Katare addressed the workers  earlier, they began advancing towards the Chief Minister’s Residence.

Youth Congress demonstrated under the leadership of state Congress president Arun Yadav, leader of opposition Satya Dev Katare, Youth Congress President Krunal Choudhary and other senior leaders.
