Kealkheda Example

The Kealkheda village of Rajgarh-Biaora district of Madhya Pradesh has set a national example to protect the honour and dignity of women. The villagers in an assemblage imposed fine of Rs.one lakh on two youth of the village who shrinked the responsibility of helping women in distress.

The lady was washing clothes at a farm well when another youth of the village tried to outrage her molesty. The fought the attacker ferociously and successful repulsed the criminal. But at that of her in peril 2 village youths who were namely remained moot onlooker and have not came forward on her cries for help. The offender has been handed over to police and villagers have resolved to see that now none should dare to commit such crime and they would protect the women of the village.

In these days the Khap Panchayats on outdates modes of society giving offended dictums to women not to wear jeans or keep mobile etc. The Muslim Razis are issuing such fatwa against the women. In such a suppressive atmosphere the Kealkheda has come forward to inculcate sense of courage and sense of responsibility to act on such occasion when someone is in distress and require help.

It is generally seen that people on such occasion prefer not to intervene and they under it as meddling someone else’s mother. On such occasion the people who rendered help to other at time of accident or against criminal where harassed by the people by calling them to police station for statement and investigations and he or she was dragged to court as prosecution witness on numbers of das on us usual practice of repeated adjournments of case, hearings.

In the Delhi gangrape case also the passers by turned a blind eye towards victim and not offered any help, the Chief Minister Mrs.Sheila Dixit expressed deep sorrow of such attitude said people avoid on involvement because of the subsequent harassment by the police proceedings. Now the society has to charge its such repulsive apathy and injustice has to be fought at once then and there with effective intervention.

The social cowardice is a stigma on our society, we must realize that anybody can be in peril at any time incase of accident and attack by a criminal. The Delhi tragedy of an innocent helpless girl against the girl against the gang of heinous criminal has aroused the cancerous of the nation and the Kealkheda villagers have stood up to respond the call in distress and defend the women folk.
