Bharatiya Janata Party Vice-President Prabhat Jha, former Union minister Satyanarayan Jatiya (BJP) and Congress General Secretary and Madhya Pradesh’s ex-chief minister Digvijaya Singh were today elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh.
Both parties fielded a total three nominees for as many Upper House seats falling vacant. Today was the last date for withdrawal of candidature. The trio was formally declared elected after expiration of the time limit for withdrawal.
The three leaders were handed over certificates by Principal Secretary (Assembly) Rajkumar Pandey who was the Returning Officer. Mr Jha was an outgoing member.
