Jaswant Singh denied ticket from Barmer; ex Congman given ticket

Veteran BJP leader Jaswant Singh was  today denied a Lok Sabha ticket from Barmer in Rajasthan.    Former MP Col Sonaram Chaudhary, earlier with the Congress, was nominated from the region.

The party announced the names of its four LS candidates whereas Mr Singh, who has handled important portfolios of Defence, Finance and Foreign Ministries, was overlooked.

Although he has openly said this would be his last poll  and he would prefer to contest from his home state. Mr Singh is a sitting MP from Darjeeling and the party  has nominated S S Ahluwalia from this seat.
The Gorkhaland Janmukti Morcha is extending its support  to the party in the constituency.

Mr Singh’s son Manavendra Singh is a member of Rajasthan Assembly.

The party also announced three other candidates-Dr Manoj Rajoria (Karaul Dholpur-SC), Rajasthan minister Samwar Mal Jat (Ajmer) and P P Chaudhary from Pali Lok Sabha constituency.
