Agencies, Jaipur Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister M Veerappa Moily has set a target to make India self-reliant in the production of petroleum products and minimise their import by the year 2030.
Speaking at a function here, Dr Moily said “We want to reduce crude oil petro products import, to 50 per cent by 2020 and then bring it down further to one ourth of the present level by 2025 and then attain self reliance to stop fully import by 2030. Dr Moily also said Rajasthan will play at key role in achieving the goal as 20 per cent of domestic production was being promised by the oil field of the state. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and several dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
