Commerce, Industries and Employment Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia invited captains of industry in Mumbai today to Global Investors Summit to be held in Indore in October. She said that Madhya Pradesh has immense investment potential in various sectors. Madhya Pradesh government is keen to extend every possible cooperation to them. She said that apart from peaceful atmosphere, government’s cooperation is also forthcoming in Madhya Pradesh, which is necessary for establishment of a new industry.
Smt. Scindia met Executive Chairman of Larsen & Toubro Shri A.M. Naik in his office. Shri Naik informed her about various units of the company. He evinced interest to work under PPP mode. Informing about availability of 104 acre land in Gwalior, Smt. Scindia invited the company to invest in defence spare parts sector in the state.
Smt. Scindia also called on BLA Industries Private Limited’s Managing Director Shri Anup Agrawal and Vice-Chairman Shri Harsh Duggar. She also held discussions with Volksvagen’s CMD Shri Mahesh Kodumudi and Chief General Manager Shri Pankaj Gupta regarding investment in Madhya Pradesh.
Smt. Scindia called on CMD of Mahindra and Mahindra Shri Anand Mahindra. Urging minimum taxation on electric cars, Shri Mahindra evinced interest in production of company’s electric car “Reva” in Madhya Pradesh.
Shri Mahindra showed interest in investment in low-cost housing projects at Pithampur and other industrial areas of the state. He expressed intention to start low-cost housing project under PPP mode in Madhya Pradesh if the state government gives sanction within maximum 30 days through single-window system.
He also evinced interest in investment in Smart City scheme of Madhya Pradesh government apart from aerospace in defence sector and aviation. Shri Mahindra also evinced interest in establishment of solar and wind power-based industries.
Smt. Scindia met Canada’s Consular Shri Richard Bell and Quebec’s Director and Consular Shri Alon Olivier.
While evincing interest in investment in India, Shri Bell and Shri Olivier invited Smt. Scindia along with a delegation to their respective countries.
The Industries Minister also met Chairman of Cadbury Shri Manu Anand, Chairman of Essel Group Shri Subhash Chandra, Chairman of Maan Industry Shri Ramesh Mansukhani, CEO of City India Shri Pramit Jhaveri, CEO of Deustche Bank Shri Ravneet Singh Gill, MD of Access Bank Sushri Shikha Sharma, MD of ICICI Security Limited Shri Anup Bagchi, Piramal Group’s Vice-Chairperson Dr. Swati Piramal, Kotak Mahendra’s Vice Chairman Shri Uday Kotak, Raheja Group’s Director Shri Akshay Raheja, DSP Black Rock Investment Private Limited’s Chairman Shri Hemant Kothari, Tata Sons’ Business Development Head Shri Madhukanan and Shri Rahul Goswami and held detailed discussions with them on investment in Madhya Pradesh.
She invited them to Global Investors Summit at Indore in October. She informed about “Swarozgar Yojana” of Madhya Pradesh government and urged industrialists to cooperate in success of the scheme by imparting training and guidance to beneficiaries.
Principal Secretary Industries Shri Mohammad Sulaiman, Commissioner Industries Shri B.L. Kanta Rao, Madhya Pradesh TRIFAC’s MD Shri Arun Kumar Bhatt and office-bearers of CII were present during the meetings.
