Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, Notwithstanding warnings issued by security agencies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not resist the temptation to meet an enthusiastic crowd assembled to welcome him here today.
Mr Modi was en route from the Bhilai Plant’s airport to the plant’s premises. On the way, he was greeted by a swarm of people including women and children.
Initially, the Premier responded by standing at the gate of his car and waving his hands. Subsequently, he alighted from the car at one place, reached the barricading and shook hands with people.
Mr Modi halted for a while and proceeded ahead. Recently, police had unearthed a Naxal plot to assassinate the Prime Minister following which security agencies had cautioned him against conducting road shows or reaching out to crowds.
