ICC ODI Rankings: Rohit Sharma climbs to 5th spot

After a stellar show in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Team India opener Rohit Sharma climbed to the fifth spot in the ICC ODI Player Rankings released on Monday. The opener gained two spots and for the first time crossed the 800-point mark.

Rohit also ended the 3-match series as the top run-getter with 217 runs at an average of 108.50 and a strike rate of 120.56. Shikhar Dhawan too gained one slot to be at the 14th position after smashing 168 runs in the series.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli continues to lead the batsmen’s chart and is followed by South Africa’s AB de Villiers while David Warner is placed third third. Pakistan’s Hasan Ali leads the bowler’s rankings with Imran Tahir and Jasprit Bumrah remains in the second and third spot respectively.

Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav also moved up 16 places to take a career-best 56th position while all-rounder Hardik Pandya also reached a career-best 45th place.
