Embarrassing situations during coronation
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
An embarrassing situation developed during the coronation of newly-appointed state president Kamal Nath when outgoing state president Arun Yadav was not seen in the rally. Yadav is upset after he was suddenly removed from the post of state president and Kamal Nath was appointed. At that time too he had said that he was not aware of the reshuffle although he was the state chief.
He had gone to meet Rahul Gandhi in Delhi and had reportedly told him that under his leadership the party had registered win in local body and assembly by-polls. He was reportedly not happy even after returning from Delhi and many leaders tried to pacify him.
Yadav’s supporters said that not only Arun Yadav but also his father Subhash Yadav received cold treatment from the party. He was suddenly removed and Suresh Pachouri was made the state president. The absence of Arun Yadav was much talked about.
There were many embarrassing moments during the rally. Exposing the hollow claims of unity in the party, Congress workers raised slogans in support of Scindia and demanded party high command to declare Jyotiraditya as chief ministerial candidate.
The MLAs and workers of Gwalior-Chambal region gave the slogan—-‘Pradesh ka mukhyamantri kaisa ho Jyotiraditya jaisa ho’. Such slogans were raised many times during the rally. Thus unnerved Kamal Nath supporters and they also raised slogans in support of Nath.
Another embarrassing situation was created when party workers of Mahakaushal region said that although they belong to Kamal Nath’s Mahakaushal region yet they want Scindia to be projected as CM candidate.
Does not want CM post, Cong govt is priority
After taking charge as state president, Kamal Nath said he is not longing for the CM post but his priority is to form the Congress government in the state. He said no section of the society is happy in the BJP rule. Farmers and women are not happy.
Unemployment is increasing and the youths are frustrated. The BJP government has failed on all fronts. He said the state tops as far as suicide by farmers is concerned. Earlier the farmers used to easily get the support price but today they plead for the support price and are unable to sell crops on support price.
Digvijaya in the last row indication of future turn of events

The hollowness of Congress’ solidarity claims was exposed when former CM Digvijaya Singh remained behind during the welcome of Kamal Nath and his younger brother Laxman Singh came forward to welcome Nath.
When asked about this the senior leaders avoided making any direct comment.
But during informal discussions they said this incident shows how the things would turn out in future.
That Digvijaya Singh remained behind in the crowd and did not come forward to welcome Kamal Nath carries a message because recently just before party in-charge Deepak Babaria’s coordination meeting in Delhi, Digvijaya Singh had gone to Bhopal from Delhi and didn’t attend Babaria’s meeting.
Sources said unity in the party is the biggest challenge before polls. Another senior leader said the way Digvijaya announced to postpone another yatra to be undertaken by him upon the completion of Narmada Yatra shows his dissent.
The welcome and coronation ceremonies have taken place but there are many questions that are yet to be answered.
