Hindi speaking people need to take initiative to learn other languages : Prez

While terming Hindi as a unifying factor among people belonging to different communities and various regions, President Ram Nath Kovind, however, today stressed that Hindi speaking people need to take initiative to learn other languages to help expand the reach of the Hindi language across the country.

Speaking after presenting the Rajbhasha Awards for the year 2016-17 on the occasion of ‘Hindi Divas’ today, the President said that the development and expansion of Hindi was dependent on the initiative by the Hindi speaking people to imbibe other languages of the country.

‘To ensure that those who speak other languages adopt Hindi as their National language, Hindi speaking people need to take initiative for learning other languages.

When Hindi-speaking people take the initiative to learn other Indian languages, those speaking other Indian languages will be encouraged to learn Hindi .

It is the responsibility of all of us to help take all Indian languages forward with the same level of cooperation and equality.
