Gurpreet Singh Sandhu suspended for 2 matches

Bengaluru FC’s first choice goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has been handed a two-match suspension and a fine of Rs 3 lakh for misconduct against opponents/person in the Hero Indian Super League now in progressed.

The All India Football Federation’s disciplinary committee today announced the punitive action on the breach of code Article 49 (misconduct against opponents or person other than match officials), based on the referee’s report of violent conduct by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu in the game played against FC Goa on November 30 last at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa.

“Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, of Bengaluru FC is fined Rs 3,00,000 and is suspended for two matches from the date of this decision. The amount should be deposited to All India Football Federation within 10 days from the date of communication of this decision and until such payment, the Match suspension to continue, over and above 2 Match suspension,” quotes AIFF disciplinary committee report.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu will sit out for Bengaluru FC’s two upcoming away games, against NorthEast United FC on December 8 at Guwahati and FC Pune City on December 14 at Pune. Bengaluru FC are leading the ISL league table with six points from three matches with one loss in the ten team championships.
