Govindpura loot : Plaintiff turns out to be accused

Bhopal : Govindpura police have cracked the Rs 52,600 loot that took place on Saturday at about 7 pm. Police said the complainant was the accused. According to the police, Michael Raj, 27, resident of Anna Nagar, Govindpura, lodged a complaint on Saturday evening along with his friend Suraj Rajput and gas agency manager Ramesh Kumar Yadav.

In the complaint he said that he is a delivery boy in the Indian Gas Agency and he was going on foot with his friend Suraj Rajput from godown to the agency office in Vijay Nagar to deposit the amount of Rs 52,600 received from delivery of 67 gas cylinders. He said that at Berkheda culvert some unknown persons threw chilly powder in his eyes and in the eyes of Suraj and looted the amount.

However, during investigation police learnt that Michael was accustomed to gambling and was in debt. At the site of loot as told by Michael the chilly powder was found on the ground at only one place. When police took Michael in custody and quizzed him he admitted to have fabricated the loot story.

Had made plan four days back During interrogation, Michael told police that he had made the plan along with his friend Suraj, 28, resident of Govindpura, and Sunil Vanshkar, 20. He had asked Sunil to ‘loot’ the amount after throwing chilly powder. Before the ‘loot’, Michael had kept Rs 10,000 with him. Thus Rs 40,600 were recovered from Michael and Rs 1000 from Sunil. Remaining amount was spent.
