Good education system is the first need to rebuild the country

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes today reviewed the schemes being implemented in the state for scheduled tribe category along with senior officials at the Mantralaya.

Commission Chairman Nandkumar Sai said during the discussion that the level of primary education for these categories should be improved in the state. For this adequate number of trained teachers should be ensured in schools of notified areas.

Sai said that the first need is to make good education system available for rebuilding the country. He issued instructions to organize regular high-level committee meetings to probe the issue of fake caste certificates.

Sai said that creative activities like games should be increased for youths belonging to the scheduled tribe. Minister of State for Scheduled Tribe Affairs Lal Singh Arya told during the meeting that government will select places with less literacy and construct hostels there.

He said that health examination and use of mask would be made mandatory for labourer category in the rules and conditions applicable while giving mines on lease to them. Arya said that a 7-day programme is being prepared for the students of ST category.

Through this programme children belonging to scheduled tribe will connect to the Indian culture and various creative activities. Commission Vice-Chairman Sushri Anusuiya Uike said that people belonging to the Scheduled Tribe category should get the benefits of the pension and beneficiary-oriented schemes on time.

Issues related to ST category should be dealt with sensitivity and human approach. Commission Secretary Raghav Chandra said that the aim of the Commission at every level is to ensure conservation, upliftment and redressal of the grievances.

Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh said that schemes are being implemented with utmost care for development and welfare of Scheduled Tribe category in the state. The proposal for concession in B.Ed and D.Ed for recruitment of ST category teachers is under government consideration.

Director General of Police Rishi Kumar Shukla said that there is no provision of direct recruitment of special protected tribes under government rule in executive posts of the police. A proposal will be prepared for concession to Special Protected ST category and sent to government. Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs S.N. Mishra gave a presentation about the activities of the tribal benefits of the state government.

Introductory message was given by Commissioner Smt. Deepali Rastogi at the meeting. Commissioner Agriculture Production P.C. Meena, Additional Chief Secretary Narmada Valley Development Rajnish Vaish, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development R.S. Julaniya and officials from various department were present during the meeting.
