Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that girls should be fearless and live a respectable life.
Only when girls are given respect, can the state and the country move ahead.
CM Chouhan was addressing a kanya pujan programme organized by the Satsang Seva Prabhandh Samiti here today.
CM Chouhan and his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh performed the kanya puja during the programme.CM Chouhan said that honouring girls is a tradition in our culture. The festival of Navratri also gives us the message that nature too depends on the worship of Shakti.
Chouhan said that state government has launched several schemes for the welfare of girls. Stern action will be taken against criminals who set evil eyes on girls.
He said that the society must respect girls and stop discrimination between girls and boys. Chouhan told that the state government is providing important facilities for the education of girls.
Provision has been made for 50 percent reservation for women in government teachers’ jobs and 33 percent reservation in other government departments.
Trustee of Satsang Seva Prabandh Samiti Abhay Pandit told that this programme has been organized mainly to bring about harmony in the society. Pujan of 1101 kanyas was performed at the programme. Mayor Alok Sharma was also present on the occasion.
