Reacting to the video of a girl drinking and frolicking with friends that surfaced on the social media, Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of Kargil martyr Mandeep Singh, today asserted that the person in the video was not her as was being claimed by those circulating it.
In a post on social media, she slammed the attempts to shame the girl in the video. ‘The girl in the car wasn’t me. But whether she was or she wasn’t.. was it okay to shame her like that? #swachhthoughts,’ Gurmehar said in a tweet. Gurmehar ‘s statement came after her mother Rajvinder termed the video ‘fake’. ‘The video of Gurmehar drinking and frolicking with friends is fake,’ her mother told a TV channel.
She said that she has been receiving calls from friends and relatives but insisted that it is not her daughter. She said that the girl being shown in the video is fairer compared to her daughter. ‘There is also a difference in the age of the girl shown in the video and Gurmehar. Gurmehar was yesterday trolled again after a video of a young woman singing, dancing in a car was circulated on social media.
