Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur has directed officers to make Govindpura industrial area encroachment-free. He directed officers to ensure basic amenities like power, roads, water etc. in the industrial area. Shri Gaur was addressing a meeting at Mantralaya here today. Mayor Smt. Shri P.K. Dash were present in the meeting.
It was decided at the meeting that the district administration will develop rehabilitation site within 15 days to shift 602 shanties from Roopnagar slum from the industrial area.
It was decided to construct a four-lane road to link Ayodhya Bypass with Raisen Road with a view to ensuring smooth traffic flow in Govindpura area. For this, discussions were also held on removing encroachments from
area to be demarcated for the road and rehabilitee affected persons elsewhere.
At the meeting, a decision was also taken regarding streetlights and power supply arrangements in the area. A provision of Rs. 2 crore has been made for this.
So far, the municipal corporation has installed 192 poles and 120 other fittings. High-mast lights have been installed at four places in the industrial area. Discussion was also held on drinking water arrangements in the area.
District Trade & Industry Centre Managing Director informed that it is necessary to replace old pipeline in the area.
A Rs. 5 crore scheme has been sanctioned for supplying Narmada water in the area. Bhopal Municipal Corporation has also released funds for this work. Overhead tank is also under construction.
There are 600 engineering industrial units in the area.
The industrial area spread over 729 acres is 47 years old. Principal Secretary Urban Administration & Development Shri S.P.S. Parihar and officers of the district administration, Industries Department and Electricity Board were in the meeting.
