Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that as part of efforts for making agriculture profitable, farmers will be sent abroad to study advanced methods of farming. After learning, they will inform their fellow farmers of these techniques, he added.
The Chief Minister said that district’s plan will be chalked out in district itself. For this, a committee comprising public representatives and senior citizens will be formed in every district. Districts’ plan will be chalked out keeping in view their specfic requirements and resources.
Chouhan was addressing an “Aao Banayen Madhya Pradesh” convention at Burhanpur today. On the occasion, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for construction works costing Rs. 30 crore 77 lakh. He also distributed assistance worth about Rs. 24 crore to over 11 thousand beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister said that apart from improving ancient heritage of historic city Burhanpur, tourism will also be promoted there. Textile industry, powerlooms and all kinds of industry will be promoted in the district. Initiative to establish an industrial area in the district will also be taken. The Chief Minister said that apart from food, clothes and houses, the state government is also providing education and better health facilities to people. The Chief Minister urged people to contribute to state’s all-round development. He also administered pledge of Aao Banayen Madhya Pradesh” on the occasion. MLAs Smt. Archana Chitins and Rajendra Dadoo and former MP Nand Kumar Chouhan also spoke on the occasion. The Chief Minister also went round an exhibition on the theme of social justice put up by various departments.
At exhibition of Women and Child Development Department, he worshipped feet of 11 girls of belonging to various communities.
