All religions prayer meet organised on Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary

Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel said that Gandhiji’s entire life was like a movement. She said that today were facing the challenge of protecting our culture and traditions.
We have to face these challenges by taking lessons from Mahatma Gandhi’s life and his ideals. He was addressing an all religions’ prayer meeting organized on Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary at Gandhi Bhavan. Smt. Patel paid floral tributes to Gandhiji and garlanded him.
Smt. Patel said that Gandhiji’s ideals of truth, non-violence and Sarvadharma Samabhav are relevant even today. Our true tribute to him would be a resolve to strengthen national unity and ancient Indian culture along with protection of humanity.
She said that we should imbibe Gandhiji’s ideals. She said that Gandhiji remained a defendant of truth which he considered next to God. He would say “earlier I thought God is truth, but now I know Truth is God.
Gandhiji’s Satyagraha is the worship of this God. The light of truth spread by this worshipper of non-violence is till today lighting up the road to humanity. She said that I am proud that I am connected to Mahatma Gandhi’s birthplace Gujarat.
The Governor encouraged students present there by calling them on stage to speak on Bapu’s life. At this students came up and gave speeches. The Governor awarded winner of painting and general knowledge competitions organised on the occasion.
