Equity prices at both BSE and NSE declined

Selected Equity prices at Bombay stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) were declined following profit booking at higher lever by institutional buyers small investors here today.

The 30-share BSE sensex opened with overnight buying spree at 30,285.61 points, to touch intra-day high of 30,299.74 points before crashing to close at 30,188.15 points, showing declined of 62.83 points as compared to previous close of 30250.98 points.

While Nifty 50 also opened with positive note at 9436.65 points to high of 9437.75 points and closed at 9400.90 points, just above 9400 mark against yesterday’s close of 9422.40 points, erasing 21.50 points. The market experts said here that major profit booking was seen at the counters like banking and FMCG stocks.

About 1787 shares declined against 997 advancing shares on the BSE. Infosys and Hero MotoCorp were the top gainers, while Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Yes Bank and Zee Entertainment lost the most. Equity benchmarks remained under pressure in afternoon, with the Sensex losing more than 100 points on profit booking after hitting record highs.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices extended losses, down 0.7 percent each as more than two shares declined for every share rising on the exchanges. Benchmark indices continued to tread lower in noon, with the Nifty struggling below 9400 level due to consistent fall in private banking and financials and FMCG stocks.

The gainers counters are : Navlarcorp by Rs 16.75 to Rs 231.10, Adanitrans By Rs 5.75 to rs 89.35, SCI Rs 4.70 to Rs 83.35, Sreinfra by Rs 54.25 to Rs 1652.40, Tvs motors by ts 16.65 to rs 515.90, NIIT tech by Rs 15.65 to Rs 526.30, REl Infra by Rs 17.35 to rs 609.30, Bharatfin Rs 21.20 to rs 796.35, PEL by Rs 71.80 to rs 2609.34, GEship Rs 10.40 to Rs 427.00, Pageind Rs 316.05 to Rs 15082.80, Hero Motors Rs 73.15 to rs 3536.95, Infosys by Rs 20.15 to rs 964.25, Kotak Bank Rs 17.85 to rs 954.65 and Sun pharma by Rs 6.65 to Rs 655.10.
