Engg student ends life, blames lover in suicide note

An engineering student committed suicide by hanging at his room near Kala Pipe Road under Shyamla Hills police station on Tuesday. Police recovered a suicide note from the student in which he said he was forced to take the extreme step as he had to face deceit in love.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem and informed the family members of the deceased. According to the police, deceased Ritesh, 23, basically belonged to Bihar. He was a last year student of BE (Mechanical) at Radharaman College.

Currently he was living near at a shanty near Kala Pipe Road. After returning from college, he used to teach the colony’s children. On Monday the children arrived for tuition at about 4.30 pm but the door was closed.

They called Ritesh but there was no response. Then they peeped inside through window and saw him hanging. The children informed the locals and subsequently the police were informed. Police said Ritesh was having a love affair with a girl of Chhattisgarh.

Police said the student had removed the Sim of his mobile before committing suicide. Police are trying to find his mobile number. Police have recovered a pen drive from the deceased which contains the photographs of the student and his so-called lover when they had gone to visit some place together.

You are responsible for death…. In the suicide note the student has written that now he is going very far away. He wrote he fulfilled all the wishes of the lover and could do nothing for himself. Addressing his lover he wrote you (lover) and your family members are responsible for my death.

When I went to your house, your family members even refused to recognize me. Police said from the suicide note it is apparent that Ritesh was deeply in love with his lover but she did not reciprocate and he took the step as he was heartbroken and despondent.

Had left hostel five months back Police said earlier Ritesh lived in hostel. About five months back he had left the hostel and started giving tuition to children. He had taken a room on rent. Locals told police that large number of children used to come to him to study.

Student, married woman end life

In separate incidents a girl student and a married woman committed suicide. Chhola Mandir police said the 17-year-old student lived in Navjeevan Colony. The girl did not leave behind a suicide note and it is not clear what forced her to take the extreme step. Police are investigating.

In another incident of suicide, a beautician ended life under Ashoka Garden police station. Police said deceased Anuradha, 25, wife of Manish Kumar Verma, committed suicide by hanging. According to the police, she ran a beauty parlour in Delhi.

Even seven years after the marriage, the couple did not have a child and apparently she was depressed on this account. She came to her in-laws’ place in Bhopal along with her husband on Diwali.

On Monday night she committed suicide by hanging. In the suicide note she has written that she is responsible for her death and has said her husband and in-laws should not be harassed. Police have launched investigations in both the cases.
