Eleven countries to ink new look TPP in March

Tokyo/Davos,

Eleven remaining members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership have reached an agreement on a new “Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership”, or the CPTPP, after the US dropped out of the trade pact last year.

The deal was finalised after a two-day meeting in Tokyo. Japan’s economy minister Toshimitsu Motegi said all outstanding issues had been resolved and the pact would be signed early March in Chile this year.
