Deputy Election Commissioner of India Vinod Zutshi today said the Commission is finding out facts concerning complaints about a few collectors and other government officials being related to candidates expected to contest coming Madhya Pradesh assembly polls.
“The Commission is presently collecting information on the matter. A decision would be taken on the subject taking the functioning of the official concerned and public perception into consideration,” Mr Zutshi told reporters here.
He said the Commission was examining complaints of the alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct related to Indore Development Authority.
Mr Zutshi said the officials have been directed for district-wise compilation of poll code violation-related complaints and daily reports about law and order situation.
He said the main objective of his visit was to hold separate meeting with officials for every division.
State Chief Electoral Officer Jaideep Govind said about 500 complaints related to transfers and 10 grievances of violation of the Model Code of
Conduct have been received thus far.
Deputy Election Commissioner of India Vinod Zutshi inspected room of media certification and media monitoring (MCMC) for monitoring paid news at Chief Electoral Office here today.
Zutshi inspected units set up there to examine newspapers and monitor various news channels to monitor paid news.
He also held discussions with officers posted there for monitoring.
Chief Electoral Officer Jaideep Govind was also present on the occasion.
