E-measurement system to be implemented in PWD

E-measurement system will be implemented in Public Works Department in the state. For this, a real time GPS-based software has been developed. The system will be implemented as a pilot project in Bhopal Division No. 2. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to implement the system throughout the state. For the first time in the country, this system is being adopted in Madhya Pradesh.
During review meeting of Public Works Department here today, the Chief Minister directed that repairs of roads damaged by rains should be started at the earliest. Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram was also present on the occasion.

Reviewing road construction works, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that cement concrete roads should be built at places where roads are always get damaged due to water logging and proper drainage arrangements should also be made there. He directed to pay special attention on quality of work and ensure payments soon after completion of work. The Chief Minister instructed to undertake road construction works by chalking out a time-bound scheme. He stressed the need to ensure adequate maintenance arrangements for government circuit and rest houses. He said that besides accelerating pace of construction works, quality should also be maintained. Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram said that a scheme should be chalked out to convert Dewas-Ujjain-Barnagar and Ujjain-Maksi roads into four-lane roads in view of Simhastha.

It was informed at the meeting that Public Works Department will built total 2,950 kilometer long roads and renovate 4,474 kilometer long roads during the current fiscal. Maximum works in the country under Central Road Fund have been accomplished in Madhya Pradesh. Sums from State Fund have also been spent on the works done with Central Road Fund. The work to link all the districts of divisions with two-lane roads has been completed in 48 districts and underway in two districts. Similarly, work for linking development blocks with districts headquarters with pucca roads has also been completed. Training programmes for departmental officers and employees are being organised. Principal Secretary Public Works Shri K.K. Singh, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Ajay Nath, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Hari Ranjan Rao and other departmental officers were present on the occasion.
