Drinking water

Now we must rethink over the problem of providing drinking water the people. We have come out from open well system to piped water supply and tube wells. To maintain and sustain the water works system we require huge quantity of water to purify and filter it.

Now we are going to nearby or far off rivers for such bulk supplies. The Narmada water has already reached the Indore Metropolis and now being brought to capital Bhopal. The cost of the projects are very huge and water supplied to public its water bills will also be very heavy.

With the piped water supply and installation of large number of tube wells the conventional open wells were put off the use and with the total neglect filled up to vanish. Now during crisis period in summer need for revival of such wells are urgently felt. We have also realized the tube wells have caused the underground water to go deeper beyond reach.
The sites of filled up open wells are  still known to the people of area and should be revived to provide area wise water. It will be far cheaper than the piped supply. To bring the river waters from many kilometers away is very costly and people cannot afford it. The traditional wells sustained the desert areas of Rajasthan for centuries and still their source of water.
