CNS, Guna Congress General Secretary and Madhya Pradesh’s former chief minister Digvijay Singh’s wife Asha was paid last respects by a host of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress stalwarts in Raghogarh today.
Asha died in New Delhi two days ago after prolonged illness. Her mortal remains were conveyed to Raghogarh by road yesterday. The pyre was lit by her son Jaivardhan Singh in the presence of Mr Singh, his younger sibling and ex-parliamentarian Laxman Singh and their entire family.
Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, his Rajasthan counterpart Ashok Gehlot, Union ministers Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia, former chief minister Sunderlal Patwa, Congress state President Kantilal Bhuria, his BJP counterpart Narendra Singh Tomar, Leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh, ministers Kailash Vijayvargiya, Laxmikant Sharma, Nagendra Singh and Kanhaiya Lal Agrawal were part of the funeral procession besides several leaders of the Congress and other parties — from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
