New Delhi: Oil Marketing Companies have hiked the prices of diesel by 50 paise per litre and petrol by 60 paise a litre with effect from midnight.
Indian Oil Corporation, the nodal agency of the OMCs, said that diesel in Delhi will now cost Rs 55.48 a litre as against the existing Rs 54.91.
After the hike, petrol will cost Rs 73.16 compared to Rs 72.43 a litre in Delhi.
The price for diesel in other metropolitan centres will be Rs 63.86 (existing price Rs 63.23) in Mumbai, Rs 60.09 in Kolkata (Rs 59.50), and Chennai Rs 59.17 (Rs 58.56).
Petrol will cost Rs 82.07 ( Rs 81.31) in Mumbai, Rs 80.96 (Rs 80.20) in Kolkata and Rs 76.48 (Rs 75.71) in Chennai, sources said.
