“The ‘Housing For All by 2022’ initiative is a tremendous undertaking that is set to positively impact India’s mortgage-to- GDP ratio. The government’s efforts have broad based the industry and have ushered in great transparency and governance through efforts like RERA,” he said.

“We are aggressively expanding our credit facilities, focusing on developing greater financial awareness for the segment and creating the right products through customization, to become the preferred choice for home loans and deposit products for LMI customers,” Mr Mehta said.

Currently, Kolkata and its neighbouring locations contribute over 55 per cent to West Bengal’s home loan book,” Mr Mehta added. DHFL’s operations in West Bengal started in 2004 with its first branch in Kolkata and has since then grown to11 branches servicing over 35 locations.

Over the years, DHFL has successfully enabled home ownership dreams of over 40,000 lives in West Bengal and strives to positively influence many more in future. To further drive financial inclusion across the nation, DHFL launched a unique affordable housing initiative ‘Griha Utsav’.
