The setting of Buddishta University at the heritage of site at Sanchi of International Standard and ramification is a cultural feat of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mr.Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Centuries before there were two such universities at Takhasila and Nalanda, now both are in ruins as archeological sites.
Sanchi so far an ancient Buddishta pilgrim site will now develop into a Buddishta cultural and academic hub with large numbers Buddishta students from our regions of Ladakh and Sikkim and above all from our close neighbours Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Mangolia and Japan. The region of Bhopal-Vidisha-Raisen will develop as International center in the near future.
The Prime Minister of Bhutan Mr.Jigme Thinley in his first visit in the foundation laying ceremony of the university declared his desire to set up a Bhutanese cultural centre at the University site at Sanchi. At Bodh Gaya in Bihar all the Buddishta nations of South-East Asia and Pacific region have set up their own grand Buddishta temple in a closely connecting row of temples. It is rare magnificent site to see at one go within a short time.
This is one new Buddishta Vihar set up by Sri Lanka at Sanchi in the decade of 50. Now we can presume all the Buddishta nations will up their cultural centres and Vihar at Sanchi like the temples in Bodh Gaya.
Sanchi will develop as cultural religion and academic centre of Buddishta studies. It will have students from all the Buddishta nation.
Chief Minister Mr.Shivraj Singh will always be remembered in India and all over the Buddishta world for this cultural gift of Buddishta University.
