Digvijaya Singh says in Mahila Congress workers’ convention
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Congress Lok Sabha candidate Digvijaya Singh has said the Congress gave reservation to women in panchayat, urban bodies, government jobs, and police. He was speaking at the Mahila Congress workers’ convention held under the leadership of District Mahila Congress president Santosh Kasana.
Singh said, “Chief Minister Kamal Nath had said that you will contest from Bhopal. I said I will talk to Rahul Gandhi and let him know. After the talk, I said yes. At that time my own party leaders had said that you have been trapped by being asked to fight from Bhopal. I said Digvijaya does not get trapped, he traps. Now see, BJP is not able to find a candidate to fight against me.”
This was stated by Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh at the workers conference of Bhopal North Assembly. He said that new names are surfacing from the BJP every day. Sometimes it Mama ji, at other times the name of Tomar Saheb is surfacing.
Whosoever BJP fields, victory will be of Congress. In addition, in his address Digvijaya said that PM Modi has done a great favour on me. Whenever he comes to Madhya Pradesh, he remembers me always. BJP men are spreading rumors against me by playing communal politics. They have even said that after I got the ticket, firecrackers were burst in Pakistan and they distributed sweets.
In a counter attack to BJP, Digvijaya Singh said that he is often accused of being anti-national. But till date no one has been able to prove this allegation. If he is an anti-national then why has he not been arrested? He said that he does not want BJP’s certificate to prove himself a patriot. On the other hand, he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah on issues such as demonetisation, corruption and black money.
